Notes from our Green Buyer

Without good elevation and good varietals, you cannot have good coffee. Emerson Arzubialdes has some of the best you can get on this side of the Atlantic Ocean. His farm, which is a part of the Santa Ana Cooperative in the Cusco region, rests high up at 2055 meters above sea level. At this elevation, this special lot of the Yellow Bourbon cultivar comes together for a complex balance of bright and sweet fruit in your cup!

Notes from our Roaster

Here’s quite the unique coffee from Peru, this Yellow Bourbon varietal is noticeably juicier, with a deep, well-rounded sweetness—think vanilla bean and apple juice. Instead of imparting more of a tangy flavor profile, the fruit notes actually accentuate more of the low notes, or depth, in the coffee. This is the difference between pomegranate and, say, orange. You’re in for a real treat with Emerson Arzubialdes’ Yellow Bourbon.
