Notes from our Green Buyer
Finca La Cumbre lives up to its name, “mountain top,” as it sits at over 2000 MASL near Oyara in the Vilcabama District northwest of the Machu Picchu site. Alejandro Maccapa produces this microlot, which is an excellent example of two of the oldest varieties in South America–Bourbon and Typica. We are excited to share this lovely coffee with you!
Notes from our Roaster
La Cumbre is our first offering of Peruvian micro-lots. This coffee’s flavor profile has a particular “classic”-ness to it we will always be fond of in washed-processed coffees: a slight citric acidity followed by a caramel sweetness. We call it a classic for a reason! As a 3 on our Taste Guide, you can expect La Cumbre to be an approachable and versatile coffee — whether you’ll be brewing it as a pour over or espresso.
