Notes from our Green Buyer
We’ve been buying coffee near Agaro, Ethiopia for about 9 years. It’s consistently my favorite region, in my favorite country, for coffee in the entire world. The area is stunning, the people are lovely, and—at over 1900 MASL (meters above sea level) in the motherland—the terroir for coffee is perfect! Abo Hussein’s history has been a part of the Duromina Cooperative, which we’ve offered in the past, but recently he began directly exporting his coffee. We’re excited to roast and bring this beautiful cup to you.
Notes from our Roaster
Abo Hussein is a truly unique naturally-processed coffee; in fact, it may even remind you of a washed Ethiopian! Its complexity and tropical acidity make it different than other naturally-processed coffees (those that have been dried with the fruit flesh intact around the seed/bean). Abo Hussein has a developed acidity that, rather than being jammy like many naturals, tends toward vibrant and tangy!
