Malawi is a landlocked country in Southeastern Africa, known for cultivating this particular Geisha variety. Some producers, like our very own Luis Pedro, have acquired and propagated this variety on their farm in Latin America. What we have here is a geisha that originates in Africa but grown and processed at Luis Pedro's family farm, Buena Vista. Located along the Sierra Madre Mountains, ‘Buena Vista,’ meaning ‘Beautiful View,’ certainly lives up to its name as it overlooks the southern chain of volcanoes from a surreal elevation of 1900 meters. Our good friend and partner, Luis Pedro Zelaya, owns and operates the farm as well as the processing mill, Bella Vista, from which we receive some of our favorite Guatemalan coffees year after year – this being one of them. Look for notes of orange blossom, dried cherry, and vanilla.
