Notes from our Green Buyer

Bernaldino is a small holder producer within the Santa Ana Cooperative which operates under the larger umbrella COCLA. His coffee stands out among the other producers within the co-op, and his farm, Finca El Morro, rests high up in the mountains of Cusco in La Convencion, not far from Macchu Picchu.

Notes from our Roaster

The brilliance of the El Morro Geisha is its balance among the best of Peru’s specialty coffees. This geisha varietal has a deep and pronounced sweetness, reminiscent of butterscotch and grape. Instead of intensifying a tropical flavor, the acidity is quite subtle and helps accentuate the strong berry note. The mouth-feel, or body, is tea-like and floral, making it a very delicate coffee once brewed. The culmination of these aspects is a remarkably sweet and juicy coffee.
