Notes from our Green Buyer

Tagel Alemayehu is a coffee grower in Guji, Ethiopia and runs his own wet mill as well. This allows him to maintain quality over his own coffee while helping other farmers in the region process and sell their coffee through his out-grower program. He has won awards for the quality of coffee he produces including placing the Ethiopia Cup of Excellence competition.  This coffee is bright and complex and has everything you want from a washed Ethiopian coffee.

Notes from our Roaster

Few coffees rival the flavor profile of a washed-Ethiopian in terms of its complexity and acidity/sweetness combination. Tagel Alemayehu shines with an intense combination of acidity and sweetness. Immediately, it you’ll notice its juicy fruitiness has more depth to it – more like blackberry or plum than your typical berry note. Its sweetness is paired alongside a bright citric note – which is where you’ll get lime! These two combine to give you a unique flavor profile (one of our favorites) in the world of coffee. It’s bright, juicy, and floral. A coffee as complex is this will brew exceptionally well as a pour over. If you’re going for clarity in your cup, try it as a V60 or Chemex.
